What we see in the workshop
ON FORD ECOBOOST
Low rail pressure on a direct-injection EcoBoost points at the high-pressure fuel pump or its cam follower. We check live rail pressure against commanded before replacing anything, because a failing low-pressure pump presents identically.
ON ALFA ROMEO
On the 2.0 turbo we log commanded against actual rail pressure before condemning the high-pressure pump.
